Boys and Girls

Did you know that in the first production of Joseph, the Narrator was a man?

For our show, any student in grades 4-8 may audition for any part.  We might cast girls as brothers, boys as Narrators, girls as Pharaoh - this show is very flexible, and many of the roles could be played by either boys or girls.

All girls auditioning for a lead role will sing the "Narrator" selection, and all boys auditioning for a lead role will sing the "Joseph" selection.  At auditions, everyone will fill out a form indicating which roles they would most like to play.   Both audition pieces are similar in range, dynamics and difficulty level.  For consistency, we would like to hear all girls sing one and all boys sing the other, regardless of which role you are hoping for.

Please email hcdreamcoat@gmail.com if you have questions about this.

Audition Workshop - Thursday, Dec. 1st @ 2:45 PM

Are you wondering how to prepare for your audition?  What will happen when you get there? What the judges are looking for?  And who is this "Narrator" anyway?

Relax and let us walk you through the process!

Mrs. Moore and Mr. Coleman are having an AUDITION WORKSHOP for grades 4 - 8 on Thursday, December 1st from 2:45 PM - 3:30 PM.

We will work on the "Joseph" selections and talk about what happens at auditions.  We will offer tips and advice on how to give your best performance.  Boys and girls will get 20 minutes with each teacher.  All Holy Cross students in 4th through 8th grades are welcome -  even if you are not auditioning for a lead role this will be helpful!

Parents are welcome to sit in on the workshop.  In fact, we hope that you do!

See you there!
