Please know that this is just a friendly reminder:
When
you come
to wrangle, we appreciate your efforts and the time you have taken from
your busy schedule to make our musical a successful experience for all
the children. We need your to help maintain
order and (as much) silence (as possible).
That said, please step in to help wigglers and chatters stay focused and pay attention.
If kids are talking or horsing around and should be paying attention,
we want you to step in, don't hesitate. And when a small group breaks
off to learn something, the others should be strongly encouraged to SIT
QUIETLY, and sit with them, if needed.
Thanks again for your help!

Prayer For The Week
Heavenly
Father, thank you for all the blessings in my life. I know that often I
see what others have and I want it too. Help me to be grateful for
what I have been given and to be happy for those around me. I want my
actions to always give you glory. I know I have many responsibilities in my life, help me to keep my priorities in line with your will for me.
AMEN!

Prayer for the Week
Parents, We have been starting each rehearsal with a prayer. Here is this week's:
Lord, thank you for ALL the talents you have given us
especially our talent to sing, to dance, and to act. We ask you to help us stay focused and
enthusiastic in our roles. Help us to
make the right decisions in our lives so that we may become the best versions
of ourselves. Let all of our interactions with our friends, parents, and
teachers give you glory. We ask this in
your name.
AMEN!

Choreography Notes for the King's Singers
This week the King's Singers group learned all of their choreography for "Poor Poor Pharaoh" and "Song of the King." They can practice it at home by clicking on the Accompanese song 09 - "Poor Poor Pharaoh" (both songs will play).
The following is a breakdown of the King's Singers dance steps for these two songs. These are just notes to jog your memory as you practice. Remember, the most important part is to KEEP THE BEAT. This dance looks awesome if we all stick together!
"Poor Poor Pharaoh"
Part A:
Bring hands together as if praying, stand facing front and sing:
"Poor, poor Pharaoh, what-cha gonna do? Dreams are daunting you, hey, what-cha gonna do?" x2
Hold out hand closest to Joseph when it is your group's turn:
(group 1) chained and bound, afraid, a...
(group 2) ...lone
(group 3) Joseph stood before the
(group 4) throne
Then watch and listen as Joseph sings. Get ready to start "Song of the King" with your crazy dancing!
"Song of the King"
Do your crazy '50s dance for 16 counts (count in your head along with the beat)
Part A:
Go Swimming!
Repeat all of Part A
Repeat all of Part B
Finally:
boys - rock out on your guitar
girls - groove to the music
Everyone - hold your head, swing back and forth
Move down to the floor and swing up to the ceiling
End by dropping down to the floor on one knee
YOU DID THE WHOLE THING!! Great work!

Joseph Accompaniment Recordings Are Available
Hello Parents!
We have put recordings of the accompaniment for all the songs from "Joseph" online. These songs will give your kids a chance to practice the music at home, or just show you what great singers they are! We will be using the same accompaniment tool to run the rehearsals, so these recordings will be familiar to them.
These recordings are mp3 files and will play on any music player device. Each of the songs is available from the list on the left titled "Joseph Accompaniment Recordings". There is also a Zip file archive of all the songs. If you download that you will have all the songs you need.
If you need a CD made of the accompaniment we can do that as well, just drop us a note at hcdreamcoat@gmail.com.

Information about our change to 3 performances
After
carefully considering all of the factors and options, we have made the decision
to hold three Joseph performances, rather than four. The new performance schedule is as
follows:
Friday, April 13, 7 PM
Saturday, April 14, 7 PM
Sunday, April 15, 2 PM
As
you can see, the Thursday night performance has been removed.
This change
requires us to create one, single-cast children’s chorus. Our entire cast will perform in all
three shows. This does not
increase the number of rehearsals your child will attend. Our rehearsal schedule for January and
February remains the same. We have
revised the schedule for March and April. Please click the link to your right (Rehearsal Schedule - March and April) to see the revised schedule.
We will
review this change at the parent meeting and answer any questions you may
have. Our parent meeting will be:
Monday, January 9, 7 PM in the school
library
Children’s
chorus families (grades K-3) are encouraged, but not required, to attend this
meeting. We will have a second
parent meeting for the children’s chorus in February.
